Other Therapies

Although relatively new to this country Indian Head Massage has been used for thousands of years in India as part of the Ayurveda system of healing.

It is an extremely effective treatment and useful for stress relief, relaxation, improving circulation and muscle tone and alleviating Migraines, headaches and eyestrain; also decongesting sinuses and helping muscle fatigue, spasm and tension as well as improving breathing. IHM helps detoxify and improves lymphatic drainage. Hair condition can also benefit, especially when oils are used.

There is no need to undress, you should wear comfortable, light clothing, e.g. T shirt and no jewellery.

The massage involves the back and shoulders, arms, neck, scalp and face. Oils are only used if specifically requested (on the scalp).

A session lasts about 45 minutes

Bach Flower Remedies

The Bach Flower Remedies consist of 38 homeopathically prepared plant and flower based remedies, each one specially devised to treat a different emotion
or feeling. They are taken orally as drops.

The BFRs work by stimulating the body's own capacity to heal itself by balancing negative feelings thus helping you to take control, feel good about yourself and get more out of life.

Initially it may be easier to discuss how you feel with a trained Bach Flower Practitioner who can then prepare a mixture of the remedies specifically for you. Vivien trained as a practioner at Mount Vernon, the home of Edward Bach in Oxfordshire. She regularly uses the remedies in conjunction with Reflexology . But will also provide them in a stand alone session.

A single session takes half an hour.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Vivien trained as a menopausal advisor for the Yeovil Well Women Centre and worked there as a volunteer for a number of years. In this role she became familiar with the different issues affecting women at this stage of life. With both a nursing background and complementary health training she takes an unbiased view of what both have to offer.

Vivien holds the Certificate in Working with People with Cancer, Bristol Cancer Help Centre.

In recognising that more people were coming to her with cancer, Vivien studied with the BCHC to become educated in the modern conventional treatments that most of her clients would experience and taken through the different approaches recommended by the BCHC to complement their care. These are - in addition to Reflexology - nutrition, counselling and relaxation.

This was a valuable experience in improving skills and techniques to support her clients. The focus being on the integration of conventional and complementary therapies.
